The Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology is pleased to share the publication of a recent research paper titled “Adherence to Prophylactic Swallowing Exercises in Patients with Head and Neck Cancer Receiving (Chemo) Radiotherapy Across Two Service Delivery Modes in South India” in the Dysphagia.
The paper was authored by Jasmine Lydia Selvaraj (Assistant Professor, SRFASLP), Lakshmi Venkatesh (Professor, SRFASLP), Laurelie R. Wishart (School of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia), and Satish Srinivas Kondaveeti (Professor and Head, Department of Radiation Oncology, SRIHER).
This study explored adherence to prophylactic swallowing exercise programs among patients with head and neck cancer undergoing (chemo) radiotherapy in South India. The research highlights the impact of different service delivery models on patient participation and rehabilitation outcomes, contributing valuable insights to dysphagia management and cancer rehabilitation practices.
