The Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology is delighted to share the publication of a recent research paper titled “Validation of the Tamil Version of the Taste and Smell Questionnaire for Assessing Sensory Dysfunction in Head and Neck Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemoradiotherapy” in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention.
The paper was authored by Riya T. Nikkesh (Former PG Student), Jasmine Lydia Selvaraj (Assistant Professor, SRFASLP), Violet Priscilla Suresh (Former PG Student), and Divya Sivagnanapandian (Former PG Student).
This study focused on validating the Tamil version of the Taste and Smell Questionnaire (TSQ) for assessing sensory dysfunction among head and neck cancer patients undergoing chemoradiotherapy. The research highlights the importance of culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment tools for evaluating taste and smell disturbances, thereby supporting improved patient care and rehabilitation outcomes.
